Probably their only market now :p

I know that VW is popular down there, and that their standards aren’t as high as the US and Europe.

Stupid question.. Europe, China, Brazil, China, etc.. what the fuck does Mexico have to do with the millions of cars they sell every year? Hint: not a lot

right, but Europe and the US have been fining and suing the shit out of VW. Even China might be taking action against them, too.

Also, a lot of their cars are made in Mexico. Many stay there, but many are exported to Europe and the US. So less demand for VW’s, in or outside Mexico, will affect Mexico.

The only country with any sort of substantial litigation is the United States (surprised?), no one else cares. The cars meet EU emission standards.

China is going to sue over pollution??? How and where would they begin? The entire country looks like the very worst day, ever, in L.A. Trust me, China gives zero fucks about the environment.

Mexico is not going to be harmed, life goes on. Keep in mind the total number of TDI vehicles sold in North America was less than 500k.

Exactly, the millions of 2 cycle scooters and mopeds each pollute more than anything VW makes.

Are VWs really exported in significant numbers from Mexico to Europe? I seriously doubt it.

Anyway, why the scandal has an effect on sales numbers VW is still the best selling manufacturer in Europe.

Here in Mexico, people don’t even know it happened and VW is still the second best selling manufacturer behind Nissan.

I thought VW was #1 there

Nissan has always been, and will always be #1. I would be seriously impressed if VW passes them.

The VW nameplate though is MUCH more respected.
